Feb. 1 (UPI) — Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin missed Friday night’s match in opposition to the Ottawa Senators with an upper-system harm.
“Suitable now he is day-to-day with an upper-system harm,” Sullivan explained. “He will not engage in tonight or this weekend. We are hopeful that this is a small-term factor and he’ll be back in our lineup before long.”
Pittsburgh ahead Matt Cullen took more than as alternate captain Friday in Malkin’s absence.
Malkin last performed Wednesday and experienced two helps in opposition to the Tampa Bay Lightning in a 4-2 victory. He joined Mario Lemieux (1,033), Sidney Crosby (741) and Jaromir Jagr (640) as the fourth participant in Penguins history to tally at minimum 600 helps.
The 7-time All-Star has 55 points (14 aims, 41 helps) in 50 online games this time. Malkin experienced 15 points (two aims, 13 helps) in his last 11 contests.
